Towcester Veterinary Centre was founded by Mr David Forwell in 1905. Mr Forwell was a large animal vet that ran the practice from his own house and the back of his car! A very different set up to the one today!
As the veterinary profession grew, so did Towcester Veterinary Centre. The popularity of small animal pets increased dramatically and by 1970 a plot of land in Burcote Road was purchased to develop a clinic to provide care for these pets and provide a base for our ambulatory large animal and equine vets.
More recently, to improve the services we can offer our rapidly growing equine client base, we opened an equine specific diagnostic suite at Plum Park Farm, Paulerspury in 2000. Towcester Equine Clinic was expanded in 2003 and now includes an operating theatre with induction and recovery boxes, several indoor examination rooms, including one with stocks, a separate imaging room, a diagnostic lab and a pharmacy.
Our modern purpose built clinic enables our dedicated team of equine specific vets, nurses and reception staff to provide a comprehensive clinic-based and an ambulatory service to all our equine clients. We strive to be friendly and approachable, as well as compassionate and professional at all times.
